Our data protection promise (revised 2018)
Following changes to Data Protection and the new General Data Protection Regulation 2018 (GDPR) and the Privacy and Electronic Communications Regulations 2003 Chet Taxis & Mini-bus Service and Coaches is committed to protecting your data and privacy. We will use the information that we collect about you but will not forward onto others.
About us
Chet Taxis & Mini-bus Service and Coaches are a long established private hire firm (1992 with existing owners) moving people around the UK and on some occasions Isle of Wight and EIRE and aim to take only information required to carry out your requirements and to be clear and concise when we collect your data.
We set out below the ways in which we use your data and how you can hold us accountable for that.
What information do we collect to enable us to service our clients?
We collect your information when you contact us for either a taxi or coach trip, either by telephone or by email.
The information we hold about you may include:
Your name
Postal address and/or Pickup Location/Drop off Location
Telephone number
Email address
We may keep a record of the emails and texts we send you when quoting for trips in the future but will delete once the trip has been carried out or invoices sent depending on whether cash or invoice client.
How do we use your data?
The information collected is used to work out distances for pricing purposes and if invoice clients for sending invoices on a monthly basis.
Any telephone numbers will/could be used to:
Contact you if there are any changes to timings of your booking ie if we get delayed etc.
We will not send out any advertising emails/texts.
Third parties
We will not share any of your personal details with any other third parties without your agreement. All our drivers are required to comply with data protection laws and are only allowed to process your information in strict compliance with our instructions to the extent necessary to allow them to perform the services we provide. We will always make sure appropriate controls are in place and we regularly monitor all our drivers to ensure their compliance. Job sheets are shredded at the end of each day.
How we keep your data safe
Your personal data will be held and processed on Chet Taxis & Mini-bus Service and Coaches’ computer and minimal information is in the diary. Your data is always held securely. Access to customer information is strictly controlled. It is held in the UK and the processes are EU compliant. We may need to disclose your details if required to the police, regulatory bodies or legal advisors.
Sensitive information
We do not hold sensitive information.
Booking
We may take address, phone number, e-mail address, or mobile number to facilitate a booking but we would not take all as we would only require one contact number and 1 name plus the address for pickup point and destination/drop-off.
Changes to this policy
We may change this Privacy Policy from time to time as legislation dictates and if we make any significant changes in the way we treat your personal information we will contact you.

Drivers (Employed/ Sub-contracted)
All the above sections, where appropriate, also relate to data held about Chet Taxis & Minibus Service and Coaches employees sub-contractors. Chet Taxis & Mini-bus Service and Coaches collects personal information from those individuals employed or sub-contracted to identify the individual. This information may include name, contact information plus other information necessary for us to screen potential employees and workers up to DBS child and vulnerable adult status.
